Now, on the brink of my book launch, I think of my sensei and mentor, Eddie Ward Shihan, who passed away in June 2023. He was expecting the first book hot off the press, but time ran out and he is gone. Some people were born to make an enormous impact on people in a most positive way, and he was certainly one of the powerhouses in my young life.
It was a privilege to watch him in action, be the subject of his unique style of teaching, and learn from the best. He could not have known the immense impact his tutorship had on me, but I hope that I’ve lived my life in such a way that he would have been proud to know that he played such a significant role in my success.
Not enough can be said about him as an evolved visionary. I watched him closely for many years and realised the brilliance of the man each day! I have tried to capture fragments in Get Your Mind Right, but his true story and mental processes would fill a book all on its own.
May he rest in peace, knowing that his life artfully shaped the minds and hearts of many, but mostly, mine.
